Some versions of Kazaa downloaded before August 16th, 2005,
were also provided free with ads from the Gain Network.

The GAIN Network delivers online advertisements that are selected based in part on how you surf the Web. For a more detailed description of the information collected through the GAIN Network and how it is used, click here.

GAIN Network ads include the GAIN name and/or logo, so you'll know they're delivered by the GAIN Network - not by any website. To find out more about some of the GAIN Network ad formats, click here.

It's important to know that GAIN AdServer software must be installed in order for the ad-supported version of Kazaa to work. The only way to stop receiving advertising from the GAIN Network is to uninstall all GAIN supported software from your computer, including Kazaa.

What you should know about ads from the GAIN Network:

  1. GAIN Network ads are selected for you based in part on how you surf the Web so they're often about things you are actively searching for. That makes them pretty useful.
  2. The GAIN Network is the largest and most-established advertising network of its kind in the world - find out more.
  3. If you want to stop receiving ads from the GAIN Network, all you have to do is uninstall all GAIN supported software from your computer, including Kazaa using the Add/Remove Programs dialog in Windows. Once Kazaa and all other GAIN supported software are gone, the GAIN AdServer software will automatically uninstall itself after a few minutes.
